On the 4th of December at the Banco Terra branch of Maputo, The Ministry of Transport and Communication (MTC) launched a project which endorses alternative means of transportation in Mozambique such as bicycles and motorcycles.
The launch was realized by the Mozambican Minister of Transport and Communication, Paulo Zucula. On this occasion, by means of a raffle, three bicycles were awarded to the three of public servants whom applied for a credit to purchase a bicycle or motorcycle. In his speech the minister discussed the benefits of the bicycles such as increasing a person stamina and beneficial for the environment.
The project is a collaboration of the Government (predominantly the Ministry of Transport and Communication) and Banco Terra, and is an endeavour of the Government to solve the problems of the infrastructure, to better the circulation of the citizens and minimize the expenses of transport in Mozambique.
The duration of the project is 4 years; Banco Terra is the financial mediator, facilitating the purchase of electric or normal bicycles and motorcycles for public servants (the selected public group).
