Banco Terra today announced that is has received Central Bank authorization to commence operations in Nampula. A temporary branch has been set up which will open its doors tomorrow.
“Banco Terra’s core objective is to provide financial services to the unbanked population of Mozambique. Nampula is an extremely important stepping stone in the building of our nationwide distribution network. We expect the city to serve as a logistical hub assisting future establishments in surrounding rural districts”.
The Bank stated that it expects to move to permanent premises by the 1st quarter of 2009, and also announced it has applied for approval to open a branch in Malema.
