Banco Terra launches branch in Beira City

Banco Terra inaugurated a branch in Beira City, Sofala province, on 13th January.

The inauguration ceremony, which began its activities on 21st December 2009, was honoured by the presence of the Governor of the Province of Sofala, Dr. Alberto Vaquina and the Mayor of Beira City, Engº Daviz Simango.

During the ceremony, the Governor said that Banco Terra could change the face of the country, and the province of Sofala, in particular, through the multiplicity of initiatives for small business, including the agri-business.

For his side, the Mayor of Beira City said that he hopes that the citizens will use the advantage of its services offered as much as possible and that this contributes to womens empowerment.

Apart from these two figures, other important people were invited for the event. Among them were the Federal Minister of the Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany, Dr. Dirk Niebel, on his first visit to Mozambique, and the President of the Association of the Economic Agents of the Sofala Province, Pracache Prelahd.

Through its Beira branch opened in Beira city, Banco Terra intends to stimulate the economic activity of Sofala Province, since, in addiction to its range of products and services it will be active in the financing of agri-business.

The inauguration of Beira branch, the sixth opened in little more than a year, represents the achievement of its branches chain expansion stage throughout the whole country.

Banco Terra is present in 7 of the 11 provinces of Mozambique, with branches in Nampula, Malema, Tete, Chimoio, Beira, Maxixe, Chókwè, Maputo and shall soon open its doors to serve the community of the Ulónguè district.
